The Jewel of the CaribbeanBarbados is 15 miles wide x 20 miles long and easily accessible!! Barbados is regarded as 'the jewel' of the Caribbean, and the west coast in St. James is affectionately known as 'the platinum coast' because of its clean, glittering beaches and spectacular sunsets. Unlike the turbulent east coast, our waters are calm, clear and warm. It is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, wind surfing, water skiing, scuba diving or just relaxing on the beach enjoying the sun, sand and sights. One of the most popular islands in the Caribbean, Barbados has miles of white beaches with towering palms and turquoise waters. Away from the beach are rolling hills, fields of sugar cane and beautiful plantation houses. Barbados is not just for the rich: there are no private beaches and it has good public transport. Head to the capital, Bridgetown, for nightlife and a peak at the national museum. Calypso is the music of choice and rum the national tipple. Home of Mount Gay rum! *The property is approx. 500 metres from the beach, a 5-6 minute stroll.* |
